The Ascent 'One' - A collaboration between Joe Gooch and Mark Pullin.

After years of playing/jamming together in bands and also as a duet for quite some time, Joe and Mark decided it was time lay some of their ideas down in the studio and came up with the album now known as "One".

The Ascent are not currently working as a band, due to other heavy commitments, but perhaps one day they may find time to take it on the road?

Joe has continued working with 'Ten Years after' and his new line-up 'hundred seventy split', also featuring Leo Lyons of 'Ten Years After'. Mark is working on other solo projects and playing bass guitar with the amazing 'Audiocalm'.

Please take the time to look an listen. We hope you like it as much as we enjoyed recording it! :-)

Wishing you all the very best,

Mark & Joe

Review of The Ascent - 'One'

The Ascent's sound is best described as classic/progressive rock with a hint of blues. Their lyrically orientated and emotionally charged songs are intensified with flurries of 'fasten your seat belt, high energy and heart felt' instrumental music. Their songs are 'powerful, melodic and compelling'; they come with a liberal helping of guitar solos, jaw-dropping drumming and soaring vocals. It's an album to rock out to!

The founders of the band are Mark Pullin - drummer/multi instrumentalist and Joe Gooch of Ten Years After – guitars and vocals. They are showcasing their creative skills that stem from their long-term musical friendship with their debut album 'One', which is now available from the online shop.
