| After years of playing/jamming together in bands and also as a duet for quite some time, Joe and Mark decided it was time lay some of their ideas down in the studio and came up with the album now known as "One". |

| The Ascent are not currently working as a band, due to other heavy commitments, but perhaps one day they may find time to take it on the road? |

| Joe has continued working with 'Ten Years after' and his new line-up 'hundred seventy split', also featuring Leo Lyons of 'Ten Years After'. Mark is working on other solo projects and playing bass guitar with the amazing 'Audiocalm'. |

| The Ascent's sound is best described as classic/progressive rock with a hint of blues. Their lyrically orientated and emotionally charged songs are intensified with flurries of 'fasten your seat belt, high energy and heart felt' instrumental music. Their songs are 'powerful, melodic and compelling'; they come with a liberal helping of guitar solos, jaw-dropping drumming and soaring vocals. It's an album to rock out to! |
